Upcoming Event: Advancing Our Understanding of Aging & the Brain

We are excited to announce Advancing Our Understanding of Aging & the Brain, an event representing a critical opportunity to explore the intersection of Alzheimer’s disease and vascular health. This event, hosted by Axios on September 18, 2024, brings together leading policymakers and health care experts to discuss the future of brain-related care.

Medical professionals, scientists, and policymakers are grappling with how to address America’s aging population and the growing burden of Alzheimer’s. With research showing that nearly 50% of those with Alzheimer’s also suffer from conditions like high blood pressure, it’s clear that improving vascular health could play a key role in preventing and treating cognitive decline.

Our discussion will focus on the importance of vascular health in our search for advancements to fight Alzheimer’s. Featuring Robert Egge, Chief Public Policy Officer of the Alzheimer’s Association, Tisamarie B. Sherry, Deputy Assistant Secretary at HHS, and George Vradenburg, Chairman of UsAgainstAlzheimer’s, this conversation will explore innovative policies and treatments that could transform the way we approach Alzheimer’s care.

The event will also explore how new treatments aimed at improving blood flow to the brain may be able to slow or even prevent cognitive decline. These types of breakthroughs are significant given the aging U.S. population and the strain dementia places on families, healthcare systems, and communities.
